Homeless Experience Legal Protection (H.E.L.P.) enlists local attorneys, law students, and law firm secretaries and paralegals in cities across the country to provide pro bono legal assistance to homeless individuals.

“As lawyers, we have an obligation to use the special skills we’ve been given to give back to the community and minimize homelessness as best we can.”

Judge Jay Zainey, Founder of Project H.E.L.P.

This assistance often takes the form of a single consultation but occasionally extends further, depending on clients’ needs. Volunteers meet with their clients at local shelters and other social service organizations that are accessible to the homeless population.
